Why does a painter write- why would a designer trespass a painter's night? besides a handful buried alive, virgins kept an empire's flame lit for a thousand years- and whores walked the thin thread of sex and death throughout the ages down to us and into my studio- both are palpable and exhaling in the dark cold squares on the painter's paper- the designer deigns to wrap these sometimes worshipped dolls of wood, and silk and flesh-and the painter ceases to write-
